📄 Description

What is this child already showing you that may be easy to miss?

The Strength Spotting Journal helps adults build a clearer picture of one specific child by collecting real moments that show what the child is already good at, how those strengths appear, and where they may look different depending on the environment.

Instead of choosing a few positive words and calling it done, you’ll record actual moments across five strength areas:

Curiosity
Kindness and Connection
Creativity and Problem-Solving
Adaptability and Persistence
Pride and Identity

Each section asks you to notice what happened, consider what the moments may reveal, and identify where that strength seems easiest or hardest for the child to show.

You’ll also find a language bank for naming strengths in specific ways, a final Strength Profile, and tracker pages that help you keep adding to what you know about the child.

This resource is built for adults who are raising, teaching, or guiding children and want to make sure strengths are seen alongside struggles.
