This SEL journal helps children understand kindness as something that helps others feel safe, respected, and cared for—not simply following rules or being “nice.”

Students reflect independently using examples from their own lives. They may write a word, a short sentence, or draw a symbol in each section, allowing for authentic expression without pressure to perform or share.

The included facilitator guide and culturally responsive notes support adults in honoring the many ways kindness shows up across families, cultures, and lived experiences. This makes the activity especially meaningful in diverse classrooms and counseling settings.
